Trichet Sees A "Bumpy Road" Ahead
Forty five minutes, after the European Central Bank held rates steady at 1.0%, a historic low, the ECB chairmen, Jean Claude Trichet came out to comment on such decision, by saying that the decision was “Unanimous”. Starting with his speech, Trichet said that the European Central Bank rates are currently appropriate, according to the current changes in markets, as the narrowed contractions and improvements in sectors does not push the central bank to consider reducing the benchmark further.
